Our Story

Lesbury Community Shop is more than just a place to buy essentials; it's a cornerstone of our community. It was established in January 2023 to create a space that serves everyone and we are proud to say that our shop is run by dedicated volunteers.

We aim to provide a welcoming environment where locals & visitors to beautiful Northumberland can find quality products and enjoy a sense of belonging.

Our mission is to serve the wider community of Lesbury, Hipsburn, and Bilton villages, ensuring that every visit feels like coming home.

Our Offerings

Come for a cuppa, stop for a chat

Local residents told us they would like somewhere to "pop into for a cuppa and a chat". Well, you have now! Our splendid coffee machine (tea and other beverages also available) is a very popular with residents, holidaymakers, passing walkers, cyclists and tradesmen. In fact, the shop is proving to be a great place to catch up with old friends and to make new ones!

We have soft drinks, cakes, traybakes, biscuits, ice-cream etc. to enjoy at a small number of tables, inside and out.

Newspapers

Are newspapers and magazines important to you? They are HUGELY important to the viability of the community shop! The more local customer orders placed, the more viable the Community Shop will be.

We supply, to order, newspapers & magazines of all sorts and we also have more available to browse through in the shop.
